Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos stated on Wednesday night. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The boxer had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” Omotosho said.
Remembering the Victims
Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the passing of his two dear friends.”
His release from the hospital arrives after the global fight fans shared its support for the star in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
