Acclaimed young adult author and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.

A spokesman for the company stated: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was made after an inquiry regarding reports of inappropriate behaviour towards young women.

The firm did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We do not comment on internal matters."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as TV movies.

His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works in total, encompassing a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.

His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE back in 2017 for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
