FC Barcelona Set to Play Historic Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend
Barça revealed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou this Saturday. They will welcome the Basque side in the Spanish league over two years after they moved out to allow renovations to start.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch based on approved permits. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced finished work included an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.
Preparatory Events
The club conducted a public practice at the Camp Nou on 7 November. The club said they are seeking authorization from European football’s governing body to play their next home Champions League game against Eintracht Frankfurt in December at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
